Thailand passport

The Thailand passport is the passport issued to citizens and nationals of Thailand by Passport Division, Department of Consular Affairs within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs .Thailand biometric passports have been issued since August 2005.

Physical appearance

Thai passport is dark red with the Emblem of Thailand emblazoned in the center of the front cover. The official passport has a blue cover, diplomatic passport a red cover and temporary passport a green cover. All types have the word "หนังสือเดินทาง ประเทศไทย" above the national emblem and the word "THAILAND PASSPORT" below it. The biometric symbol is at the bottom for e-passport. The passport contains 50 pages.

Note

The note inside of Thai passports states:::"The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand hereby requests all whom it may concern to permit the citizen/national of Kingdom of Thailand named herein to pass freely without delay or hindrance and to give all lawful aid and protection. This passport is valid for all countries and area."

This is stated in English only. The other information is printed in Thai and English .

Visa-free Travel

According to a study done by Henley & Partners, Thailand has a Henley Visa Restrictions Index of 40, which means that Thai citizens enjoy visa-free access to 40 countries and territories for short-term tourism visits. Thailand is ranked 56th in the study in terms of international travel freedom.

The countries or regions that grant visa-free or visa-on-arrival to ordinary Thailand passport holders are:
