January 9 ,1987 –September 15 ,2006 ) was a Mexicanactor .Early Life
Santos was born in
Monterrey ,Nuevo León inMexico . At the age of 12, Pablo arrived in Los Angeles fromMonterrey ,Mexico , with no acting experience or any training at all. He began life improvement courses at Celebrity Centre International (the Church of Scientology, dedicated to providing courses and services to people in the Industry in Hollywood). He later became an accomplished actor with a highly respected coach Gloria Gifford. He was member of theChurch of Scientology and was part of The Gloria Gifford Conservatory For Performing Arts in Los Angeles. [http://www.freedommag.org/english/la/issue06/page02.htm]uccess
The combination was a winner. Immediately upon arriving in the States, Pablo landed his first television appearance, on a groundbreaking Showtime TV series called Resurrection Blvd, which tackled serious, universal issues faced by the Latino community. He had already been seen in eight national commercials.
His resume from that point includes shows that any professional actor today would be proud to have under his belt: ABC's Alias opposite Jennifer Garner; FX's The Shield opposite Michael Chiklis; PBS' American Family starring Edward James Olmos, Raquel Welch and Sonia Braga; Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; Boston Public, and the list goes on with projects distributed by major studios. Over 15 television and film projects in all - not too shabby for someone whom, with no former training, began his career a mere seven years ago.
Pablo was probably the only foreign actor in history to arrive in Tinseltown from his native country and land his very own television show within two and a half years. That show, of course, was Greetings from Tucson on the WB network. Once again, Pablo found himself at the center, laughing at stereotypes and breaking them all at the same time.
Being dedicated was vital to the characters he played on television and film, but it was also very important to Pablo in real life that his fellow foreign actors got every chance possible to be accepted in their adopted country. So it's no surprise that, schedule permitting, he loaned his time to the "Proyecto Latino" - a literacy project supported by the "Eduardo Palomo Educational Fund" - which helps Latin people read and write and that teaches people a successful study method; Pablo helped in several ways, mainly partnering with his manager creating powerful associations to benefit this project.
Death
On Friday 15 September 2006, Santos and a group of friends were flying from Monterrey to Acapulco. He was heading from Monterrey to
Acapulco to celebrate Mexican Independence Day with six friends in a private light plane, aPiper Malibu Mirage PA 46. The Piper Malibu Mirage in which they were travelling had to carry out an emergency landing at Toluca International Airport in central Mexico, due to a low fuel situation. While on finals, the engine cut out and the plane went down just 2km short of the runway and crashed. Five out of seven on board survived the accident. Pablo died that same day and another passenger, Martel Fernández, died the following day, while the others on board were hospitalized for minor injuries.Officials are still investigating the cause of the accident, but suspect the plane crashed because it ran out of fuel. The Piper Malibu was designed to carry only six people, but the group persuaded the pilot to take on an extra passenger.
Memorial
On Monday, September 25, 2006 at 6:30, Pablo Santos' memorial service was held at his church, Celebrity Centre International Church of Scientology located at 5930 Franklin Avenue in Hollywood, California. Pablo made friends wherever he went and his family and manager invited anyone and everyone considered a friend, or even a friendly acquaintance to come by and wish him the best on his continuing journey through eternity.
