Live Oak and White Springs Railroad

Live Oak and White Springs Railroad

The Live Oak and White Springs Railroad Company was incorporated by Florida state law chapter 3655, approved February 16, 1885. The company was intended to construct a railroad from Live Oak (Suwannee county, Florida) to or near White Springs (Hamilton county, Florida).

Land grants

An incentive for rapid building was the promise of land grants along sections built within one year. No land grants were to be given for sections built after three years.

Owners

The company was owned by George A. Wight, Jno. A. Powell, John Frazer, J.F. White, H. A. Blackburn, W. H. Slate and Charles H. Cone.
