Mohammed Hafez is the author of The Strategy and Ideology of Martyrdom.[1] Mohammed Hafez previously authored Why Muslims Rebel[2] and Manufacturing Human Bombs.[3] He received his PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science, studying under Fred Halliday.
Mohammed Hafez is also the author of numerous book chapters and journal articles on Islamic movements, political violence, and suicide bombers in Iraq and Palestine including: Martyrdom Mythology in Iraq, Suicide Terrorism in Iraq, Do Targeted Assassinations Work?, Rationality, Culture, and Structure in the Making of Suicide Bombers.
Recently, he has shifted his academic homebase from the University of Missouri, Kansas City to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He also participated on a panel sponsored by the New America Foundation entitled Al Qaeda 3.0.
