October 14 ,1945 ) is an Americaneconomist , a chair professor in the Economics Department ofPrinceton University and co-director of Princeton’s Center for Economic Policy Studies, which he founded in 1990.Blinder received his undergraduate degree in economics from Princeton, graduating
summa cum laude in 1967. He subsequently attended theLondon School of Economics and then received his doctorate from theMassachusetts Institute of Technology in 1971.Blinder has served as the Deputy Assistant Director of the
Congressional Budget Office , on PresidentBill Clinton 'sCouncil of Economic Advisors , and as the Vice Chairman of theBoard of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1994 to 1996. He was an adviser toJohn Kerry during the latter's 2004 presidential campaign.Blinder graduated from
