Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, a premier center of technical education, was established in the academic year 1980-81 by the Prabandhak Committee Gurudwara, Sri Nanak Jhira Saheb, Bidar. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education ( A.I.C.T.E. ).
History
Initially Guru Nanak Dev Engineering college was affiliated to Karnataka University, Dharwad. However when Gulbarga University was created, it came under the jurisdiction of Gulbarga University, Gulbarga. Today, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College proudly offers qualitative engineering education in eight different disciplines.
Now the college is Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University,Belgaum, approved by All India Council for Technological university (AICTE),New Delhi and Accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.
The institution has fully come into the shape from 121 students to a strenth of 1200 students at present. The college started with only three disciplines and today it offers courses in seven disciplines viz., Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Industrial & Production and Automobile Engineering leading to Bachelor's Degree.
