- St. James College
St James Practical School (usually known as St James College) was established in 1868 with only 12 students and is the oldest catholic boys school in Queensland. In 1893, the Christian Brothers agreed to take over the school following major economic depression, the governments refusal to pay staff wages and inconsistent student enrolment.
In 1994, the college began to accept enrolments from females in years 8 and 11, making it a co-educational institution. 1994 also saw a change in name to St. James Prac, this was then reverted back to St. James College in 2001. In 2002 its first female principal came to the school.
From 2007 the school will be a satellite campus of the North
