Born in
Compton, California , Jackie has come a long way from being the coy, little blond leading lady of "Our Gang." In 1951, she joinedKTTV as the hostess of the first daily two-hourvariety show in theLos Angeles area. For over ten years, she had the top-rated television show in theSan Diego area. Her credits also include directing and producing television programs as well as performing in over seventy-five movies, numerous TV dramas and national commercials.Later years
Jackie and her husband of 39 years, journalist/TV producer Jack Fries, produced and co-hosted the widely-acclaimed "
Little Rascals Family Theater" on San Diego and Los Angeles television in the mid-1970s and mid-1980s. (Segments of the show, including interviews with several former Gang members as adults, are available on home video.) Jackie and Jack are well-known throughout California for their talks on bias in the news and Jackie’s days in "Our Gang." In 1975, they moved to Kansas City to study for the ministry. Jack was ordained in 1977; Jackie in 1979. They have served churches in St. Joseph and Kansas City,Missouri ; San Juan Capistrano and San Diego,California ; and Reno/Carson City ,Nevada .Currently, Jackie and Jack are retired in Jack's home town of
Sacramento . Both teach Voice Power Dynamics atSierra College inRocklin, California , operate their RascalandUSA.com website and speak before service clubs and civic organizations in Northern California.
