Anna Maria of Sweden

Princess Anna Maria of Sweden, also "Anna Maria Gustavsdotter Vasa" (19 June 1545 - 20 March 1610) was the daughter of Gustav I of Sweden and Margareta Leijonhufvud, a Swedish noblewoman.

She married Georg Johann, the Count Palatine of Veldenz on 20 December 1562. The couple had the following issue:

* Georg Gustav, (b. 6 February 1564 – d. 3 June 1634) succeeded his father as Count Palatine of Veldenz
* Countess Palatine Anna Margarete of Veldenz, (b. 28 April 1565 – d. 2 October 1567)
* Count Palatine Johann Ruprecht of Veldenz (b. 9 September 1566 – d. 1 October 1567)
* Countess Palatine Anna Margarete of Veldenz (b. 17 January 1571 – d. 4 November 1621), married Count Palatine Richard of Simmern-Sponheim
* Countess Palatine Ursula of Veldenz (b. 24 February 1572 – d. 5 March 1635), married Louis I, Duke of Württemberg
* Countess Palatine Johanna Elisabeth of Veldenz (b. 2 October 1573 – d. 28 July 1601)
* Count Palatine Johann August of Veldenz (b. 26 November 1575 – d. 18 September 1611)
* Count Palatine Ludwig Philipp of Veldenz (b. 29 November 1577 – d. 24 October 1601)
* Countess Palatine Marie Anna of Veldenz (b. 9 June 1579 – d. 4 October 1579)
* Countess Palatine Katharina Ursula of Veldenz (b. 4 August 1582 – d. 22 September 1595)

After her husband's death in 1592, Anna Maria was forced to live a very sparing life since her husband had run up huge debts in his lifetime.
