It was first established in 1908, making it one of the oldest national ice hockey associations in the world, and was previously named the Australian Ice Hockey Federation.As well as promoting the sport and uniting each of the seven State associations within the country, IHA is responsible for selecting squads for men's and women's national teams, including the National Senior Team (known as the "Mighty Roos").
