- UWM Union
The UWM Union is a multi-purpose building located on the campus of the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee , inMilwaukee ,Wisconsin .The Union building was constructed in two phases. The west part was erected in 1956, and was enlarged and remodeled in 1963. The east part including the Kenwood Inn, Wisconsin Room, Union Theatre, Union Art Gallery, UWM Bookstore, Gasthaus, meeting rooms and offices for the Union staff and student organizations, and a two-level parking structure was completed in 1972.
Location: 2200 East Kenwood Boulevard, Milwaukee WI between Stowell Avenue on the east and Maryland Avenue on the west, on the east side of Milwaukee.
Hours: General building hours during the year are: 7am-12 Midnight, Monday through Saturday, 8am-12 Midnight, Sunday.Hours vary during interims and summer.
Parking: Paid parking is located underneath the Unionand entered on the north side of Kenwood Boulevard.The Parking and Transit Office handles bus and parking passes.
Mission: The mission of the UWM Student Union is to be of service to all campus community members: students, faculty, administration,staff and alumni and guests in the Milwaukee area. As the center of the University community, the Union provides services and programs, out-of-classroom multicultural, educational, intellectual, recreational and social activities to its diverse building user groups.
Policies: Non-smoking facility. Primarily for use by the campus community.However, many events are open to the public.
