Sustainable product development and design

Sustainable product development and design

Sustainable product development and design is concerned with balancing economic, environmental, and social aspects in the creation of products and services.

Sustainable product development and design looks to minimise adverse sustainability impacts and maximise sustainable value throughout the life-cycle of the product, building, or service. To create sustainable products and services that increase stakeholders' 'quality of life' while at the same time achieving major reductions in resource and energy use will require a significant emphasis on stimulating new ideas through higher levels of creativity and innovation.
