BCCH, Broadcast Control Channel is a Point to Multipoint, unidirectional (Downlink) channel, specified in GSM specification.It transmits at a constant power all the time from the BS. It carries information such as list of frequencies used in cell, cell identity, location area identity, list of neighbouring cells, access control (emergency calls, etc.), power control and DTX information. It is further classified as 3 different channels. These are SCH, FCCH and BCCH.
