Haifa Declaration

The Haifa Declaration [http://www.alternativenews.org/index2.php?option=com_content&do_pdf=1&id=870] , is set of orderly ideological and political doctrine challenging the current character of the state of Israel. The document published by a group of Arab citizens of Israel calling on a change to the ideological foundation on which Israel was established as the Jewish Homeland. The document include ten points framework which set 'The Future Vision of the Palestinian Arabs in Israel' and a proposed constitution which would remove the Jewish character of Israel.

Details

Te group is calling on Israel to recognize what the group claim is "Israel responsibility" for what the group call Nakba - "The Catastrophe" - the Palestinians' term for the changes in population (Palestinian exodus from Israel and Jewish exodus from Arab lands which took place during the Israeli-Arab 1948 war). The group demand of Israel to implement a policy allowing millions of the 1948 Palestinian refugees' and their descendents to emigrate return into Israel while at the same time establishmening of a Palestinian state alongside Israel.

Alternative vision

In response to the Haifa Declaration MK Zakhour issued a call for Israeli Arab to come up with an Islamic vision that includes "no gays and more modest women clothes" [http://www.nrg.co.il/online/1/ART1/583/026.html]
