"Hey, Hey, It's the Monkees" was an hour-long special program televised on the ABC Network in 1997. It featured all four of the original Monkees. Michael Nesmith wrote and directed the program. The basic plot consists of the now middle-aged Monkees living in the same beach house as in the original series and making fun of plots of their own earlier TV series. Some of the music featured in the special came from the quartet's "Justus" album from 1996. A true highlight of this special features the group performing a medley of 5 of their biggest 60s hits; "Last Train To Clarksville", "Daydream Believer", "(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone", "I'm A Believer" and "Pleasant Valley Sunday". These songs are shown as performances by the group in 1997, intercut with performances of these same songs from their 60s television series.
To date, this special has never been officially released on either the VHS or DVD formats.
