Urdu : حیدر آباد), is a district ofSindh ,Pakistan . It used to be an administrative division of the Sindh namely the Hyderabad Division, until the reforms of 2000 abolished the third tier of government. It's capital is the city of Hyderabad. TheKirthar National Park is located in Hyderabad district. Till some years back, old Hyderabad district included the adjoining dists of Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Hala. Combined population of that district as per the 1998 census was 2.891M out of which 1.469M people lived in urban while the rest 1.422M people lived in the rural areas.
