The FIBA Africa Championship 2005 was hosted by Algeria from August 15 to August 24, 2005. The games were played in Algiers. This FIBA Africa Championship was to earn the three berths allocated to Africa for the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan. Angola won the tournament, the country's 8th African championship.
