Misc ="Fly on the Wall" is the tenth
studio album by Australianhard rock bandAC/DC , originally released on 28 June 1985. The band's second and last self-produced album, it was also the first AC/DC album not to include drummerPhil Rudd , who was replaced bySimon Wright . Like their previous album, "Flick of the Switch ", Angus andMalcolm Young chose to produce in order to capture the rawness and simplicity of their early works [cite web |url=http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:xtduak4k5m3m |title=Flick of the Switch > Overview |author=Steve Huey |publisher=All Media Guide |accessdate=2008-06-15] in a time when pop-orientedglam metal became popular. The album was not well received by critics and only sold one million copies upon its release, as opposed to the success of their previous albums, "
Back in Black " and "For Those About to Rock We Salute You ". [Statistics compiled by theRecording Industry Association of America ] The singles "Shake Your Foundations " and "Sink the Pink ", however, are chosen as standouts from the album, cite web |url=http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:aifixq95ld6e~T0 |title=Fly on the Wall > Overview |author=Steve Huey |publisher=All Media Guide |accessdate=2007-06-09] [cite web |url=http://www.blender.com/guide/reviews.aspx?id=2403 |title=AC/DC : Fly on the Wall Review on Blender |author=Carlo Twist |publisher=Alpha Media Group Inc. |accessdate=2008-06-15] [cite web |url=http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:wifixq95ld6e |title=Who Made Who > Overview |author=Stephen Thomas Erlewine |publisher=All Media Guide |accessdate=2008-06-15] and both songs were included in the band's soundtrack to Stephen King's film "Maximum Overdrive " titled "Who Made Who ". A video featuring the band performing five of the album's songs was also released in the summer of 1985.The album was re-released in 2003 as part of the AC/DC Remasters series.Video
A video of AC/DC performing five songs from the album was released in the summer of 1985. The video, also titled "Fly on the Wall", features the band playing the songs "Fly on the Wall", "Danger", "Sink the Pink", "Stand Up", and "Shake Your Foundations", in that order, at a small bar in
New York City . At the bar, a photographer attempts to sneak in so he can take photographs of the band, and as the band performs, new characters are introduced during each song. The cartoon fly depicted on the album cover is also featured within the video.Track listing
