Edward Durrell

Edward Durrell (1910s - early 1980s) was an industrialist at Milton Valley Farm in Clarke County, Virginia and served as the board chairman for the Union Fork and Hoe Company. [Stewart Bell Jr. Archives Room, Handley Regional Library, Winchester-Frederick County Historical Society [http://www.hrl.lib.state.va.us/Handley/Archives/Durrell,%20Edward%20Papers%20518.htm Edward Durrell Papers] , April 2003]

Durrell believed that the gold in Fort Knox was removed in the 1970s [ [http://www.fgmr.com/right2know.htm Freemarket Gold & Money Report: "We Have A Right To Know"] , James Turk, December 13, 1999 in FGMR Letter #256] . According to Beter, the ex-general counsel for the Export-Import Bank of the United States, Durrell was able to painstakingly make the United States Mint admit that Army trucks in the dead of night had carted off all of Fort Knox's gold by confronting them with photographic evidence; even though subsequent Treasury listings still continued to omit details of that shipment [Peter Beter, [http://peterbeter.host.sk/docs/all/dbal41.html Audio Letter No. 41] , Retrieved on September 2007] .

Edward Durrell was played by David Morse in the 1992 television series "Reasonable Doubts" episode "Moment of Doubt". [ [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0683848/ Internet Movie Database: "Reasonable Doubts": Moment of Doubt (1992)] ]
