Subgranular zone

Subgranular zone

Subgranular zone (SGZ) is a brain region in the dentate gyrus where adult neurogenesis occurs. It is one of the two major known adult neurogenesis sites of the brain, along with subventricular zone (SVZ). Abrous DN, Koehl M, Le Moal M.
