Ming-Chieh Hsu (zh-tp|t=許銘傑|p=Xǔ Míng Jié), born December 1, 1976 in Kaohsiung County, Taiwan, is a pitcher for the Seibu Lions. Born and raised in southern Taiwan, Hsu joined a school baseball team since he was in elementary school. Hsu participated in the Little League World Series in 1989, his team resulted in second place that year. Hsu is famous for his Shuuto.

Professional career

In 1998, Hsu joined the Taichung Agan of the Taiwan Major League. His outstanding performance had been compared with Daisuke Matsuzaka by the Taiwanese media. In 2000, he joined the Seibu Lions of the Pacific League in Japan.
