Mataragka or Mataraga (Greek: Ματαράγκα; older name: Apideon) is a Greek village located 48 km southwest of
Patras . Mataragka had a population of 363 in 2001 for the village and 692 for the municipal district. Mataragka is also in the municipality ofLarissos since the late-1990s. Mataragka is connected with the Lappa-Mataragka and villages of the southwesternMovri and a few more roads.ubdivisions

Mataragkas is situated in a hilly area. The area are made up of farmlands and forests that are in the western and the eastern portions. The
Movri mountains lies to the east. Its main production are fruits including watermelon, melon, figs and vegetables including corn, tomatoes, potatoes, onions, cucumbers and others as well as dairy, livestock, olives and others. The majority of the population is rural-based, the rest work on services as well as a growing number on agricultural factories. The population had left for larger cities and outside Greece but an increase in population did not see a large emigration. Residential and other buildings are within the main and farm roads. The transformer line connectingPatras andPyrgos runs to the north and a secondary one also to the north connecting with other parts. Until the late-1990s, Mataragka was in theElis prefecture and the municipality ofVouprasias . The population declined in the 1990s sharply and recovered by doubling its population where it is in the 2001 census.Population
