Universal Manufacturing Corporation is a scaffold manufacturing company located in Zelienople, Pennsylvania that produces steel scaffolding, shoring and custom fabricated access equipment.
In 1934, seventeen workers and their families moved to Zelienople and bought the machinery to create a new type of industry in Western Pennsylvania - producing various types of ladders, platforms and clamp-type steel scaffolding.
During the early 1940s, Universal continued to create and develop new types of access equipment, including one of the original standard sectional frame-style scaffolding designs. In 1948, it became Universal Manufacturing Corp.
Today, they manufacture various types of scaffolding including frame, system, tube & clamp, shoring, plank and custom fabricated access equipment for all types of construction including shipbuilding. The company also provides engineering services for the erection of scaffolding on buildings, landmarks and other custom projects.
The company offers scaffold rentals through "Universal Scaffold Systems".
