Ngee Ann Primary School

Ngee Ann Primary School (Chinese: 义安小学) is a government-aided co-educational primary school in Marine Parade, Singapore.

It was founded by the Ngee Ann Kongsi's Board of Directors - including Mr Lee Wee Nam, Mr Yeo Chan Boon and Mr Lim Kim Seng. They set up Ngee Ann Girl's School in 1940, which was the first Chinese Girl's school in Singapore, before converting to a mixed school by accepting male students in 1967.

Its establishment was in the bungalow of a Kongsi member built in River Valley road, but later in 1984 the school relocated its premises to Marine Terrace, in the eastern region of Singapore.

With the number of students reaching 2000, the school moved to a temporary holding school in Katong Road in 1998 while Singapore's Ministry of Education demolished the original establishment and built a new one on-site with more facilities to cope with demands of the growing number of students. In December 2000, the school re-opened. The official re-opening was held on the 21st of November 2002 with (then) Prime Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong as the guest-of-honour.

The establishment has six floors, a mini auditorium named the 'AV Theatre', 3 computer labs, an Apple iMac computer lab for movie editing and songwriting, a parade square, a multi-purpose hall and an average of 12 classrooms per floor and an empty large room at the 5th floor named the 'Shine Studio' where the dance co-curricular activities are held. There is a two-storeyed library but students are rarely allowed on the second floor of the library and a roof access via the Chinese Orchestra room but students have no access to. The canteen is located next to the parade square which can also be entered by the second carpark.

The school specializes in Chinese Orchestra and other Music Arts such as Choir and Dance groups; in the 2006 [Singapore Youth Festival], it was awarded Gold with Honours for the Chinese Orchestra and the Chinese Dances.

Ngee Ann Primary also won bronze in soccer.
