- West Dunbartonshire Council election, 2007
Elections to West Dunbartonshire Council were held on the
May 3 2007 the same day as the other Scottish local government elections and theScottish Parliament general election. The election was the first one using 6 new wards created as a results of theLocal Governance (Scotland) Act 2004 [http://www.wdcweb.info/democracy/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=11955] , each ward will elect three or four councillors using thesingle transferable vote system a form ofproportional representation . The new wards replace 22 single-member wards which used theplurality (first past the post ) system of election.Election results
