- Seattle Buddhist Church
The Seattle Buddhist Church (built 1940–41) is a Japanese Buddhist
temple inSeattle, Washington , USA. Although it was designed byJapanese American A.K. Arai , thearchitect of record was Pierce A. Horrocks, because Arai lacked an architectural license. [Ochsner 1998, p. 242–243.] It replaced an earlier Seattle Buddhist Church (1906–1908, Charles W. Saunders & George Willis Lawton) that was torn down as part of theYesler Terrace project.
