Erik Thompson (born July 22, 1959 in La Jolla, California) is an American voice actor and television announcer.

Career

Erik began his career in 1978 as a disc jockey at a small AM radio station in Vista, California, and later became a radio personality in the San Diego and Los Angeles radio markets in the 1980s and ‘90s, most notably at "91X" and "KGB-FM San Diego" and "XETRA-AM Los Angeles".He has also been involved in radio and television production as a freelance producer and, rarely, as an on-camera actor.

Since the late 1990s Thompson has been a full-time voice actor and promotional announcer for television networks. He is currently the voice of "The National Geographic Channel" "(Nat Geo)", and voices promos for "HBO, CBS, NBC, TNT, TBS, Cinemax, Showtime, Sundance Channel" and "Tru TV" .

Erik also provides narration for TV series such as "The Universe" on "The History Channel", "World's Most Amazing Videos" (2008) on "Spike TV", "Animal Extractors [http://imdb.com/title/tt0969655/] " on "Animal Planet", "Stringers" on "TruTV" and "Shootout!" on "The History Channel".He is the image voice of Sirius Satellite Radio Channel 14, "Classic Vinyl".
