NYC & Company, a private non-profit corporation, is the official tourism marketing organization for New York City. The organization was formed in 1999 through the combination of the New York Convention & Visitors Bureau and with New Yorkers for New York: the Permanent Host Committee, a business group promoting major destination events in the city. Over 1,800 organizations are members of NYC & Company, including museums, hotels, restaurants, retail stores, theaters, tour organizations, and attractions. NYC & Company has an annual budget of approximately $16 million, 40% of which comes directly from New York City.[1]

Activities
NYC & Company aims to market the city as a travel destination; support promotional activities (including OpSail, Broadway on Broadway, and the New York City Marathon) that attract large numbers of visitors especially at slow periods; support expansion of convention and lodging facilities, including expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center; and support efforts to bring major events to the city.[1] Members of NYC & Company are eligible for promotion at various international and domestic trade show and have access to networking events and research statistics not available to non-members. [2]
Furthermore, NYC & Company produces and plans some of its own events and programming, including CultureFest, Just Ask the Locals and NYC Sunday Stays which promote different aspects of New York City to its visitors and residents. Most recently, NYC & Company made the news with the October 10th launch of This is New York City, inviting visitors to customize their New York City experience.
Board
Jonathan Tisch, elected in 2002, is the chairman of the NYC & Company Board of Directors.[1]
