This is a list of Champ Car fatal accidents, which consists of all the drivers who died during a Champ Car race meeting.
Gordon Smiley was the first person to die while driving a Champ Car in May 1982, and the last was Greg Moore, who died in October 1999. Two drivers died in the 1980s and four in the 1990s.

*Gary Avrin (July 14, 1996): Track corner worker; Fatally injured when struck by the crashing car of Jeff Krosnoff at the Molson Indy Toronto.
*Kenneth Fox, Michael Terry Tautkus, Sheryl Ann Laster (July 26, 1998): Spectators; Fatally injured by a wheel which flew off the car of Adrian Fernandez during the U.S. 500 at Michigan International Speedway.
