1977 , is the last studio-album by thechansonnier Jacques Brel . It is to be noted that this album was recorded by Brel even though he had only one lung left. He died, a year later, of lung cancer. Later five extra recordings from the same sessions were published.Alternative album titles
The original title was BREL, as printed on the sleeve in 1977 [http://www.jacquesbrel.be/index2.cfm?lg=EN&pg=disco&part=barclay Original 1977 sleeve with clouds] . "Les Marquises" was the title ascribed to this set of songs when it was reissued as part of the 10CD box set in 1988 (as pictured in the box here). The title is maintained in the 16CD box "Boîte à Bonbons" from 23 September 2003.
Jacques Brel's recordings have been released in many different permutations, in different countries, and on different formats. Furthermore, releases of Brel's recordings are sometimes known by different titles, and sometimes exist in different versions with the tracks arranged in different running orders.
