Bart Lundy is the head men's basketball coach at
High Point University .Lundy is known for his bald head and glasses look, he is described as a players coach. Bart Lundy is an alumni of
Pi Kappa Alpha . Lundy became HPU’s 10th head men’s basketball coach on April 22, 2003.He made an immediate impact upon arriving at High Point guiding one of the nation’s best turnarounds in 2003-04 while leading HPU to a 19-11 mark (a 13 win improvement over the previous season) and a spot in the Big South title game. For his efforts, Lundy was named the 2004 National Rookie Coach of the Year by collegeinsider.com. Lundy is well-connected and nationally-known in the college basketball community. He is a selection member for the Mid-major Top 25 poll. He has served on the
National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Assistant Coaches Board of Directors. He also worked as director of the Dave Cowens/Charlotte Hornets College Coaches Clinic and has worked in coaching clinics throughout the world.A 1994 graduate of
Winthrop , Lundy was a player atUNC Pembroke andLenoir-Rhyne before starting his coaching career. Lundy was an assistant atWinthrop for three years before becoming an assistant at Queens. He earned his masters degree from Winthrop in 1998.He graduated from

Lundy came to High Point after five highly-successful seasons as the head coach at Queens University of Charlotte, where he led the Royals to a 115-41 record and a pair of NCAA Division II Elite Eight appearances, including a trip to the Final Four in 2003.
Queens won the Carolinas-Virginia Athletic Conference (CVAC) in four of Lundy’s five seasons on the bench, and finished the season ranked in the Top Five in three of Lundy’s five years there (including a No. 3 ranking in 2003).
Under Lundy, the Royals shattered the school record for victories three times (including a 29-4 mark in 2002-03), set the CVAC record for conference wins in a season with a 19-3 finish in 2001, and have broken the school record for points scored in a game (126) five times since the 2000 season. In 2002-03, Queens was ranked in the Top 10 nationally in scoring offense, scoring margin, field-goal percentage defense, and free-throw shooting.

High Point University head men's basketball coachBart Lundy earned the 200th win of his 10-year coaching career after guiding the Panthers to a 77-54 victory over theRadford Highlanders on February 27, 2008 at theMillis Athletic Center .Lundy owns a career mark of 202-107 including an 87-66 record at High Point. He has guided the Panthers to three consecutive .500 or better finishes including a program record 22 wins in 2006-07. At age 36, Lundy is one of the youngest coaches in the country to reach this milestone.
During his tenure at High Point, Lundy's squads have excelled on both ends of the court ranking among the Big South leaders in both scoring offense and field goal percentage defense. Under Lundy, HPU owns a 45-33 mark in conference play and have reached at least the semifinal game in each of the past five
Big South Tournaments.Lundy has produced a pair of
Big South Player of the Year honorees in Danny Gathings andArizona Reid who was a two time winner.Over the past five seasons, High Point owns a 58-11 record at home in the
Millis Center including a 27-2 mark the past two seasons. Lundy has guided the squad to a 25-1 record versus non-conference foes at home during his HPU career including a current 19-game win streak. The Panthers are also 21-7 under Lundy against in-state opponents.During his head coaching career, Lundy has graduated over 90 percent of his men’s basketball players. His teams have set new bench marks in terms of overall GPA and in 2006-07, the HPU men’s basketball team placed four players on the
