Washim is a railway station on Kachiguda-Khandwa section of South Central Railway (SCR). It was in Hyderabad division of SCR until 2003 and now is in Nanded division after bifurcation of Hyderabad division. This section of railway line had metre gauge track until 2008. The track was coverted to broad gauge from Purna to Akola in 2008. Washim is now connected to the broad gauge railway network of India.
