Sioux City sarsaparilla

Sioux City Sarsaparilla is a brand of sarsaparilla soft drink that is comparable to root beer. It is known as "The Granddaddy of all Root Beers." It is very similar in flavor to the Sioux City brand root beer. Sarsaparilla has a little bit more of a creamy taste than Sioux City Root Beer, and a hint of vanilla, which are the only things distinguishing the two from each other.

In The Coen Brothers' film The Big Lebowski, Sam Elliott's character (The Stranger) asks a bartender for "any good sarsaparilla", the bartender responds "Sioux City Sarsaparilla?", which The Stranger claims "Yeah, that's a good one" as the bartender hands him a Sioux City Sarsaparilla.

"Sioux City Sarsaparilla" is a song performed by Finnish metal guitarist Alexi Laiho from the band Children of Bodom. It can be found on the upcoming CD called Guitar Heroes, an album full of guitar songs made by famous Finnish guitarists.
