magazine in theUnited Kingdom . The magazine is the best sellingguitar magazine inEurope .The magazine is owned by
Future Publishing , who publish many other magazines ranging from guitars and drums to video games, mountain bikes and health and fitness. The current editor of Total Guitar is Stephen Lawson.Total Guitar regularly contains
tablature for (Rock, Metal, Folk, country,Rhythm and Blues andJazz ) songs, alongside industry renowned reviews of guitar equipment. The magazine boasts many exclusive interviews with various bands and guitarists, securing the majority of 'UK guitar exclusive' covers and features for many artists in the magazine. The Learn To Play section of the magazine covers everything from basic strum-along tunes to full-blown shred monsters. The Novice section of Total Guitar is the perfect place for beginners to hone their skills and progress on guitar. The magazine also comes with a free CD in each issue that contains backing tracks and demonstration tracks to accompany the magazine's tablature and regularly features Video Lessons for tricky and demanding guitar passages. The magazine has also featured a DVD edition in two of the issues. Although it contains gear reviews, "Total Guitar" contains fewer articles than its sister magazine "Guitarist", focusing instead on learning material. Total Guitar has the largest amount of tablature in each issue than any other UK and European based guitar mag. It is generally better suited for novice players than magazines such as "Guitarist" and "Guitar Techniques ", which tend to focus more on expensive gear and advanced techniques for an experienced guitarist, rather than on the fundamental aspects of guitar playing that are often focused upon in "Total Guitar"'s novice section.Ex-Mr. Big Guitarist
Paul Gilbert has his own column within the magazine, called "School of Shred". There have been guest spots from various other popular guitarists such asBrian Setzer ,Joe Trohman of Fall Out Boy,Mick Thompson andJim Root of Slipknot, John 5,Synyster Gates andZacky Vengeance of Avenged Sevenfold,Alex Skolnick ,Joe Satriani ,Wes Borland ,Matt Tuck andMichael Padget of BFMV, andMatt Heafy andCorey Beaulieu of Trivium. The magazine's current team is:
