Rusty Eye is a heavy metal band of American citizens that was formed in Mexico City in 1995. In 2004 Rusty Eye relocated to Hollywood, CA.

Metaphorically speaking, Rusty Eye relates to the corrosion of perception; the creation of music that doesn't follow trends or popular fads. [ [http://www.rustyeye.com/bin/blog/ontherise.jpgMetal Edge Magazine (Ozzy Osbourne. April 2008 issue)] ]

Biography

Rusty Eye is a heavy metal band that was formed in the year of 1995 in Mexico City (Mexico) by main founder "Mr. Rust" (bass and vocals), "Dr. Eye" (guitars and vocals) and "Daniel Acosta" (drums). The band previously went under the name of Scarecrow and Poltergeist in 1993 and 1994 respectively.

After cutting several independent DIY demos, the band recorded their first LP titled Rust N’ Roll in 2000 in Mexico City at [http://www.mixtlan.com/ Mixtlan] studios. Rust N' Roll was recorded under the lineup of: Mr. Rust (bass and vocals), Dr. Eye (guitars and vocals) and Leo Haze (drums). This album was released in Mexico in the year 2001 and in the US in 2003 under the band's own Indie label "Epoche Records".

The band relocated to their native country to the city of Hollywood, California in 2004. This lineup now included female drummer "Miss Randall", a U.S. citizen as well who lived in Mexico City and had joined in the year 2003. "Miss Randall", also an audio engineer, started the band's second production Cryogenic in 2005 (now with the brief participation of guitarist J. Dee). This three-song single was produced and mixed by "Miss Randall". The mastering was finished at "Universal Mastering Studios" by the mastering engineer [http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:gpfqxqyhld0e~T4 Mark Omann] .

In the beginnings of 2006, Rusty Eye replaced "J. Dee" with the more versatile guitarist "The Baron". With this line-up (Miss Randall, The Baron & Mr. Rust) Rusty Eye recorded what was their next LP Stendhal Syndrome (recorded, mixed and produced my Miss Randall; mastered by UMG's Universal Mastering Studios [http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:gpfqxqyhld0e~T4 Mark Omann] ). This album was released via the band's own Epoche Records on the fall of 2006 next to their live album Live at the Joint MMVI. With this, the band was awarded with the "Best Metal Single of the Year" with song "Mr. Cannibal" (by the LA Music Awards) and were listed in the Music Industry and Trade Magazine Music Connection [http://steiger.rockguitar.net/images/MC_Top_100_List%202007.pdf Top 100 Unsigned Artists of 2006] .

Music videos

Rusty Eye released in 2007 the horror-themed music video to their single Mr. Cannibal [ [http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=85059 Mr. Cannibal on BlabberMouth.Net] ] which pays homage to Italian horror masters such as Lamberto Bava, Lucio Fulci, Ruggero Deodato, and Dario Argento. Mr. Cannibal was directed, produced, and financed by Alejandro Ordoñez. The film crew also included: [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0494822/ Eric Leach] (director of photography), [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2180762/ Bryan Robbins] (co-producer and colorist), Johnny Bachelier (editor), and Chante Pradella (production designer).

The [http://www.rustyeye.com/bin/myspace/poster_web_1_small.jpgMr. Cannibal] poster design was made by the illustrator/screenwriter Stephen Romano (who also co-wrote next to Don Coscarelli the Masters of Horror episode: Incident On and Off a Mountain Road). The video was released on 10/14/07, just one week after the controversial "Canibal de la Guerrero" was caught red-handed in Mexico City.
