Frans Brüggen (born
October 30 ,1934 ,Amsterdam, Holland ) is a Dutch conductor andrecorder player.He was born in
Amsterdam and studied recorder andflute at theAmsterdam Muzieklyceum . He also studiedmusicology at theUniversity of Amsterdam . In 1955, at the age of 21, he was appointed professor at theRoyal Conservatory of The Hague .He has had a brilliant career as a soloist, as well as founding the
Orchestra of the 18th Century in 1981. He has also conducted many major European orchestras, including theRoyal Concertgebouw Orchestra .He is the uncle of recorder soloist and
Amsterdam Loeki Stardust Quartet member, Daniël Brüggen.External links
