George Thorpe

George Thorpe

George Thorpe was a first class cricketer who played 2 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club, against an All England XI in 1862 and Surrey CCC in 1864. A right handed batsman, he scored 19 runs at 6.33 with a best of 9* against Surrey. He took 3 catches in the field and did not bowl. He was born on February 20, 1834 in Sheffield and died on March 2, 1899 in Lowfield in the same Yorkshire city.
