Military history of the Maniots in the Ottoman period

The military history of Mani in the Ottoman period comprises around 350 years of fighting in Mani and in the surrounding Peloponnese area of Greece. During that time, the Maniots fought against the Ottoman Empire and the Egyptians and where mostly allied with the Republic of Venice. The Maniots continued to fight under the own banner until 1831 when they joined the newly founded Kingdom of Greece.
