WSSL-FM is a Hot country music station licensed to Gray Court, South Carolina and serves the Upstate region, including Greenville and Spartanburg. The Clear Channel Communications outlet is licensed by the FCC to broadcast at 100.5 MHz with an ERP of 100 kW. The station goes by the name Whistle 100 and its current slogan is "Today's Best Country."

tation history

100.5 signed on in November 1960 as WLBG-FM, the FM sister to WLBG 860 AM in Laurens. It became WGVL in the 70s when it moved the tower to Gray Court and increased the power. WGVL was sold in the early 80s to Keymarket Group, which took the station Country in September 1981 as WSSL and moved it into the Greenville-Spartanburg market.

The station is owned by Clear Channel Communications.
