Danny Hale is a former Northern Irish footballer.
Hale played with Crusaders in the Irish League in the 1960s. He represented Northern Ireland as an Amateur International and was a prolific goalscorer for Crusaders. He scored a total of 143 goals in four seasons with the club, placing him third in their all-time top scorers list, behind Curry Mulholland (149), and Glenn Hunter (157). He netted 21 goals in the 1962/63 season, 34 goals in 1963/64, 33 goals in 1964/65 and a club record 55 goals in the 1965/66 season.
He then transferred to League of Ireland club Dundalk for a fee of 1,000 pounds. Scored 28 goals in all competitions in the 1966/67 season as the Lilywhites won the League Championship. The following season he scored in the European Champion Clubs' Cup against Vasas SC [1].
He later played for Derry City, and finished as Irish League top goalscorer in the 1968/69 season.
After his footballing career came to an end, Hale ran his own upholstery service and now lectures to technical students on his profession.
