Felix Legueu

Felix Legueu (August 12, 1863 - 1940) was a French urologist and gynecologist who was born in Angers. He was a clinical professor in Paris and a surgeon at Hôpital Necker. He was a member of the Académie de Médecine.

Legueu was a highly-regarded surgeon involving genitourinary disorders. In 1913 he described a surgical technique concerning vesicovaginal fistulae (VVF). A VVF is an abnormal passageway between the bladder and vagina. Today, the "Dittel-Forgue-Legueu operation" is sometimes used for closure of vesicovaginal fistulae. This surgical procedure is named in conjunction with Drs. Dittel and Forgue. A few modern surgical instruments bear Legueu's name, such as the "Legueu bladder retractor" and the "Legueu bladder spatula".
