Early life
Hermann was born in
New York City to German parents and lived in Germany until the age of ten. He then went on toYale University , graduating in 1990. After graduating, Hermann joined the two-year service organizationTeach For America .Career
Hermann had brief stints on a variety of television shows that include the
soap opera "Guiding Light " (1997-1998), theABC Family show "Beautiful People" (2006) and theLifetime original series "Angela's Eyes " (2006). From 2002 to 2007, he had a recurring role as Trevor Langan, a defense attorney on "".He has made appearances in several commercials such as the anti-tobacco "
Fair Enough " ads.In 2006, he starred as Jeremy Glick in the feature film "United 93", whose subject was
United Airlines flight 93 , the only hijacked plane that did not reach its target during the terrorist attacks ofSeptember 11, 2001 .Hermann was in the Broadway premiere of
