"Les Chiefs" is a 2001 Canadian film documentary in about an LHSPQ hockey team called the Laval Chiefs.
Plot
The film opens with Belt Guy, an avid Chiefs fan, making his 3rd belt. The film exploits the life of 5 Chiefs players, Mike Bajurny, Brady Austin, Mike Henderson and Cory Holland. They all except Henderson live under the bleachers in the Colisee de Laval.
The Chiefs are the toughtest team in the LHSPQ and are dead set on the league championship. At one point in the movie a brawl breaks out in a game and the Chiefs come back in the 3rd period, trailing 3-0, they score 7 goals to come back and win.
A 6'5, 285 lbs ex-military strong man comes to play for the Chiefs his name is Tim Leveque. He immediately establishes himself as an enforcer. He fight 6'7, 320 lbs, Dominic "The Giant" Forcier and beats him.
Near the end of the film a boxing promoter comes to town and tries to get Bajurny and Holland to fight. Bajurny and Holland at first accept it. But after an inspiring talk from his grandfather, Bajurny says no, but Holland still goes through with it. Holland loses his fight.
In the playoffs Bajurny is benched for fighting and Austin and Holland aren't even dressing for games anymore. Everyone looks depressed and they want to go home. The Chiefs win the championship and all is forgiven and forgotten.
The film concludes with an epilogue: Austin didn't come back because the Chiefs didn't invite him back, Bajurny returned to The Chiefs the following year, Holland returned but was traded to last place Grandby Predatures, Henderson returned but was suspended for the entire season for fighting in the stands.
