Prince Thayavong Savang (born
April 17 1964 ) is a surviving member of the now deposed royal family of theKingdom of Laos . He was born at the Royal Palace,Luang Prabang ,Laos . His father is PrinceVong Savang and mother is PrincessMahneelai .Biography
In 1981, he escaped from captivity from Laos with his older brother Crown Prince
Soulivong Savang , arriving inFrance as political refugees.He is currently exiled and lives in
Paris, France , and is active in the political aspirations of restoring aConstitutional Monarchy in Laos, along with his Uncle PrinceSauryavong Savang , theRegent of theLaotian royal family, Crown PrinceSoulivong Savang , and PrinceMangkra Souvannaphouma .In September 1997, he and his brother Crown Prince
Soulivong Savang along with their Uncle PrinceSauryavong Savang initiated a Royal Lao Conference inSeattle ,United States , over three hundredLao exiles and representatives of the Hmongs community.A resolution was established at this meeting between the Lao and Hmongs leaders and the Royal Family and it held the common goal to change "
totalitarian regime to a genuine democratic system", and "the reunification of the Lao people".External links
