lake and former short lived mining field situated in theWest Coast Range ofWestern Tasmania . East of theMount Tyndall area, it was the site of a short lived mining rush in the late 1890's. It is not generally accessible by road, and only tracks. It is in a protected area.Charles Whitham says of the mining rush:"Lake Dora, Royal Dora, Lady Dora, North Dora, and, of course Dora Reward. The Government put in a good track fromMount Read , with a telephone line"(1897). however the rush and community was very short lived.References
