Beit Horon

Beit Horon

Beit Horon ( _he. בֵּית חוֹרוֹן) is a communal settlement (Israel) and Israeli settlement located in the northern Judean part of the central West Bank along Route 443, the biblical pass of Beit Horon, between Modi'in and Jerusalem. The village is located adjacent to Giv'at Ze'ev, and receives its municipal services from the Matte Binyamin Regional Council.

Beit Horon, named after the biblical Beth-horon, was established in December 1, 1977 as a joint Secular and Orthodox community and the Amana organization.

The population of Beit Horon is over 220 families including over 630 people. A religious elementary school located in the village serves local children as well as those from surrounding villages, as well as three nurseries and kindergarten, two synagogues, a kollel, a mikvah for women and men, and a library. The local Bnei Akiva chapter's membership includes both orthodox and non-orthodox children from the village.
