Parkdale has twopost code s: 3195 and 3194.Parkdale was founded in 1920, and named for early homesteader William Parker when engineers decided to build a railway station alongside a cluster of five bayside shops 23km south of Melbourne. In 1958 Parkdale was chosen as the site of one of Victoria’s first drive-in shopping centres, Thrift Park. Thrift Park is being rebuilt in 2009.
