The Neighborhood is a three piece rock band from Norman, Oklahoma. They play frequently around Oklahoma, most often at The Opolis (Norman), The Deli (Norman), The Conservatory (Oklahoma City), Third Place (Stillwater), and Mike's College Bar (Stillwater). Current members include Matt Duckworth (drums, electronic percussion), Eric Mai (bass), and Philip Rice (guitar, vocals, keyboards).

Their first release, titled "The Beginnings & Endings EP" (May 2005) was recorded with Carl Amburn (Traindodge, Chainsaw Kittens) at Mousetrap Studios in Norman. It features seven tracks:

1. "Intro" (2:39)

2. "Today" (2:48)

3. "Looking Back" (3:24)

4. "Painted Windows" (4:01)

5. "China Boy" (3:18)

6. "To the Sun" (3:45)

7. "Drowning in Seconds" (3:22)

The "Beginnings & Endings EP" was packaged in handmade sleeves individually decorated by the band with rubber stamps. This EP is for sale anymore.

The Neighborhood is currently finishing work on their second release, a full length album titled "Our Voices Choked With Fireworks". The album is said to have been in production nearly a year and a half. It is being recorded with Trent Bell (Starlight Mints, Flaming Lips). The name comes from a line in the poem "Summer Song" [cite web | url=http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/summer-song-5/ | title="Summer Song" on PoemHunter.com| accessdate=2007-02-21] by amateur poet Billy Hutson. The album will feature fourteen previously unreleased tracks and was expected to be available in August 2007.
