André Alexis

André Alexis

André Alexis (born 1957 in Trinidad and Tobago) is a Canadian writer who grew up in Ottawa and currently lives in Toronto, Ontario.

His debut novel, "Childhood" (1997), won the Books in Canada First Novel Award, and was a co-winner of the Trillium Award.

In addition to his writing, he is a member of the editorial board of "This Magazine".
