Christian day school located in Bangor, a southern suburb of Sydney,New South Wales ,Australia . Established in1982 , Inaburra currently caters for approximately 860 students from Kindergarten to year 12, and is one of only two Christian schools in theSutherland Shire (the other being Sutherland Shire Christian School, which has a Reformed theological orientation).Inaburra is a project of the Menai
Baptist Church , but is an independent Christian school with an open enrolment. The current principal is Dr. Paul Burgis.
History
The establishment of the Inaburra school can be credited to the Sutherland Baptist Church who originally wished to establish a Christian school in Menai. The church identified a need for a Christian school in the area due to its rapidly growing population and the lack of a Public high school.
A portable building was erected on the Billa Road site for the use of the preschool and church in
1980 , and in 1982 Inaburra officially commenced as asecondary school in temporary accommodation in the Christian Education Centre at GymeaBaptist Church . In 2005, parents threatened to boycott school fund-raising events in an effort to force Inaburra's governing board to reinstate the principal, Ross Whelan, who had resigned after the board refused to renew his contract.
